Supreme Kommandant Irusk

Destroyer: 4(9) pts

5 Man O War Shocktroopers: 9 pts

Iron Fang Pikemen: 8 pts

Iron Fang Officer and Standard: 2

Iron Fang Kovnik: 2 pts

Widowmakers: 4 pts

Winter Guard Leader and 9 Grunts: 6 pts

WG Officer and Standard: 2

3 WG Rocketeers: 3

Great Bears of Gallowswood: 5 pts

War Dog: 1 pts

Widowmaker Marksman: 2

Kovnik Jozef: 2 pts

I'm going heavy on the infantry as I really don't like Jacks.

There are some hard hitters in there, but the krux of the strategy is using Irusk's ability to have friendly units move/shoot through each other to use the Man O War as a mobile screen for the softer elements of the list.

The bears are total beatstick, but crumble to getting hit. They can hide behind the Man o War and then sprint out and just wreck something (5d6 damage with some buffs). Winter Guard Death Star and the IF Pikemen can operate pretty effectively on their own as well. The Widowmakers stay behind the man o wars and try and pick off support units.

Looking for thoughts on the list. I'm going to be proxying the bulk of this, so I'm not married to any one particular thing.

As a first list, that looks really solid.

Fortunately for your style, Khador generally loves lots of troops and fewer jacks.

I think you will enjoy the list. But you may be a tad disappointed in the Man o Wars.

Thanks for the feedback!

The Man o War are one of the few units I actually already own. I also really like their look, so I'm kinda torn. Honestly a lot of what went into my list design idea was how to make them useable. :?

I'm going to be trying this out this weekend against a Legion list and some Gatormen. We'll see how it goes!

They aren't terrible. And shocktroopers have good potential.

I just wouldn't get your hopes too high about them.

They will probably do some good in your list.

You almost want 2 iron fang kovniks in the list just because they are so great with both the iron fang pikeman and the shocktroopers. Your list is very different from how I play khador so I'm not sure what other advice to give... Play it have fun. I'm with you on the liking the look of the MoWs but its rough when you have to think up ways to make them worth it. Tactical Supremacy helps get them up the board faster. They can also be fun with vlad 2 feat and transference can make almost anything afraid of their weapons.

My hope is that they will be a mobile screen.

Tactical Supremacy allows an extra 3" move.

Hopefully they can screen more than one turn.

I ended up winning with the 50 pt list against an apparently goofy Legion list. List worked kinda how I thought it would from descriptions, but I can see how Martial Discipline is like training wheels for learning proper model movement/placement.

I also did a 25 pt list to try and get a better hang of the game vs some Trolls. It was a close game, but I made one big tactical blunder, and my more experienced opponent capitalized on it. Then I had some bad rolls and it all collapsed.

Really looking forward to getting into this game.

I'd drop the Widowmaker Marksmen in favor of a 2nd Iron Fang Kovnik, but looks fine for a first list. Man O Wars work well under 3 casters (imo): pButcher, Vlad2, and Irusk2. They should work fine in this list and you'll learn how to employ them effectively.

I know why you want a Destroyer in that list... if you can fit Black Ivan eventually I think you'll like it better (or Behemoth, though you'll have to drop 4 points for him). Destroyer is pretty expensive for something that doesn't do as much as you might hope. The final option you should strongly consider is Spriggan, Flare is nice and Spriggan is a better game anchor than Destroyer, though Air Burst gets around needing it sometimes Irusk2 simply doesn't have the Focus to do everything every turn.
